Bryan and I stopped in at Oceans Beach Bar and Grill on Tuesday April 24, 2012 – check out Day 14 in Maui.
We went there after spending the day on the beach and we happened to be there during Happy Hour and Taco Tuesday
When we walked in – we could just seat ourselves (the place wasn’t very busy). It is a pretty big bar and grill. I liked that all the shudder windows were opened and fresh air was flowing throughout the restaurant. The Beach Bar and Grill was not located on the Ocean [that would be awesome - something like Seacrets in Ocean City Maryland (which is one of my favorite places to go!)]
Service was okay – I felt that our waiter should have checked on us a little more especially during happy hour but we got our fair share of drinks in during the time frame.
Happy Hour started at 3pm and ended at 6pm.
Specials:
- Taco Tuesday $2.50 tacos
- $2.50 Mai Tai’s
- $2.50 Draft Beers (featuring Maui Brewing Company and Kona Brewing Company)
- $2.00 off of Pupu’s (which is Hawaiian for Appetizers)
I personally enjoyed a Mai Tai (a little to sweet for me so one was enough) and than switched to beer from Kona Brewing Company!
Enjoying my Mai Tai at Oceans Bar and Grill
I had the Longboard (it’s light and refreshing) great for right after the beach.
I got the feeling that this was more of a “local” bar because the locals seemed to get better service that the “tourists”. For the place not being busy I thought that the service could have been better. I will be going back (during happy hour) since their specials are great. I can deal with the service… but if you are one of those people who like to have quality service Oceans Bar and Grill is NOT the place that you want to check out.

Please let me know of other great happy hour spots on the island – I like to check out different “hot spots” and see what makes them so great.
